In any country the 'South' has a distinct personality of its own and India is no exception. The south has been relatively unaffected by the waves of invasion that shook and shaped northern India for centuries. The result is a fascinating survival of ancient India in its purest form in the south. Tamil Nadu is the most representative state of South India and its Dravidian cultural stream. Modern Tamil Nadu lives side by side with its ancient tradition. The new temples in the state are the fast growing Industries, big, small, irrigation and power projects and educational institutions. During the past decades the state has witnessed tremendeous progress. |
